Ralph Vigil has worked in the field of vocational rehabilitation (VR) for 31 years, 22 years of it in administering and managing VR programs. He currently serves as Strategic Account Manager at Alliance Enterprises, a technology company that makes the VR case management software used by 37 state agencies and 24 tribal nations. More than 12,000 counselors use Aware software to help find and maintain meaningful work for people with disabilities.
Previously, Ralph served as the director of the New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabilitation for six years. In his capacity as director, Ralph served the national VR program via the Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR) as co-chairperson of the Employment Committee and as the Region 6 Representative. He also preserved and created a path of positive direction for the division during a time of extreme economic downturn, and developed his employees’ leadership skills to better serve VR consumers of New Mexico.
During his tenure with the New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Ralph was also a part of the original Aware Implementation team serving on the Agency Coordination Team and as lead on the Customization Team.
Ralph has a Master’s degree in Public Administration earned from the University of New Mexico and Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Psychology and Sociology earned from New Mexico State University.
